Out and About - Worthing Art Exhibitions this March

With spring slowly blossoming and hopefully bringing some sunshine, it's a wonderful time to immerse yourself in art. I'm thrilled to announce that my latest paintings will be on display in Worthing, West Sussex this March, exploring themes of memory and travel. You can find one of my pieces at Worthing Museum and Gallery, and I'm also participating in a group exhibition just around the corner at Colonnade House in Worthing. For all the travel links and details, be sure to check out the end of this blog post for the full story.

My inspiration for these pieces comes from my recent adventures in Portugal and Sardinia over the past couple of summers. Whether snapping photos or sketching, I find myself immersed in the beauty of these places. Last summer, I had the pleasure of using a professional camera lent by my partner, Roy, and was captivated by the vibrant colours of the cities we visited, especially the Mediterranean charm of Sardinia.

Back in the studio, I sift through my photos, reminiscing about the serene spots and unique atmospheres that inspired me. Reflecting on my past travels, I find that my perspective and emotions evolve over time. Yet, through my paintings, I aim to capture the essence of these places by playing with colour and light, offering a fresh interpretation.

New pieces capturing the essence of Portugal and Sardinia, including a larger work inspired by my trip to Sardinia two summers ago will be getting their first showing here at the Colonnade.

The exhibition will be hosted at Colonnade House in Worthing from March 18th to March 30th, welcoming visitors Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.
