Arty Brighton Weekend

Thanks to all of those that made it along to a very busy weekend at Brighton Art Fair in the Corn Exchange. The art fair was slightly different this year in that it combined both fine art and luxury crafts together and I was really pleased to be accepted as applications were high.

This art fair is a great place for me to showcase new paintings and all seven of the paintings this year were either out for the first time or on a 2nd outing.  I have exhibited at the Brighton Art Fair about seven times now and for the third year with friend Frances Doherty and her ceramics. The fair is a firm favourite for both of us as and is the only art fair to represent the South East of the UK.  So it was a shame to learn that this is the final art fair for a year or maybe two as the Corn Exchange is undergoing refurbishment, but it will be back after that.

Pieces that were sold at the art fair were framed acrylics on paper. These pieces are fairly large, 1m x 80cm  'Stop Motion' and 'New Feeling'

I was really pleased about my September auction too, as all of the bids/donations are now going to the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association to raise money.  The target amount was reached two days before the deadline of Sunday with the highest bidder/donor receiving the framed print 'Blue Move'.

Over the next few months I will now be working on two commissions for large paintings and also holding more fundraising auctions for the MND Association, sign up and join in for this here
